Woken by the Power of God
Early this morning, around 4:30 we were awakened by a most amazing thunderstorm. No, not at home in Sammamish, but in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where we are on vacation (which explains why even less posting than normal is happening). Unlike most northwest storms, there were flashes of lighting almost constantly for over an hour with appropriate thunder following. Quite the display of God’s awesome power.
At each flash we could see the sky, the clouds, and large ships making their way to port – but just for a second. It reminded me that God sometimes let’s us have a flash of insight to briefly see what is happening around us, but then it gets dark again. If I’m looking closely and carefully I’ll get information about what is going on with the world around me. Maybe not the greatest metaphor I’ve come up with, but hey, I’m on vacation.
